Plants & Nutrients with Supragarden®
Supragarden® is a hydroponic grow system where you should use only water-soluble fertilizers. The hydroponic farming takes place without any soil and plants receive nutrients from the flowing water in the system. Nutrients are added with water to the water tank and it is then moved to plant roots with a water pump.

Plants need the main nutrients nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) and small amounts of additional nutrients.
Nitrogen (N)
Nitrogen has the greatest impact on plant growth. It allows the plant leafs to become dark green, strong and vibrant. The nitrogen input is less important for flowers and fruits but should never be completely stopped or plant or plant turns yellow and dries up quickly.
Phosphorus (P)
The plant needs phosphorus immediately after germination and cultivation for strong roots. On vegetative, growth phase plants do not consume phosphorous so much, but if after leafs target is to make flowers and fruits, phosphorous and potassium level needs to be typically added. So salads need less P and tomatoes more.
Potassium (K)
The plant gets strong body and the health resistance increasing with potassium. Potassium also promotes the absorption of other nutrients. The need of potassium is higher in young plants and when flowering and making fruits.
The common additional and secondary nutrients used are calcium (Ca), sulphur (S) and magnesium (Mg). Fruit crops such as tomatoes, strawberries and chilies may require the addition of magnesium, in particular the transition from the growth phase to produce a good crop.
