The combined pH and EC meter also measures the temperature of the water and calculates the exact pH value based on its temperature.
You can accurately calibrate the meter with the three pH calibration powders and EC calibration liquid that come with the meter.
This Hydroponics, aquaponics and swimpool water meter for pH and EC measurements comes with:
-
pH 4.01 calibration powder
-
pH 6.68 calibration powder
-
pH 9.18 calibration powder
-
EC 1413 calibration fluid
-
batteries AG13
-
meter adjustment tool, screwdriver
-
storage box for meter, plastic
With the EC / pH / TEMP meter you can measure all the following things that affect the success of aquaculture:
- EC meter = measurement of the EC value of water with an accuracy of 0.01, ie measurement of the nutrient content of the water (measurement of electrical conductivity)
- pH meter = measurement of the pH of water to the nearest 0,01, ie measurement of the acidity of the water
- Water temperature measurement with an accuracy of 0.1 degrees
Features of the combined Ec and ph meter:
-
Take the water temperature into account when calculating the measurement result
-
Temporarily waterproof, but only immerse the measuring head in the water tank
-
The pH and EC value of the meter can be adjusted and it is advisable to calibrate the meter atleast every two months using the appropriate calibration agents.
-
One year warranty

How to use EC and pH meter
All meter readings are automatically temperature compensated. It is easy-to-use as you can just dip the sensor into the test solution - stir and wait. This unit will deliver a stable reading in about 10 - 20 seconds.
The EC value of plant nutrient water for e.g. herbs should be 1.2, which in the meter is 120 (= EC 1.2), but the nutrient value can vary between 080-250 for different plants. To adjust the EC value in water; add clean water to lower EC value or to increase EC value add nutrient solution to the water tank. To lower the too high EC value of full water tank, the water must be replaced at least partly with new neutral water.
The pH of plant nutrient water should be about 5.8 (between 5.4 and 6.2). To correct the water pH value add some pH + or - adjusters that can be found from the store.
CALIBRATION OF THE pH & EC METER
EC and pH measurements should be calibrated every few months. There is included screw driver for this with the meter.
Calibrate the meter using pH buffer agents and EC calibrators fluid coming with the meter kit and also found in the store.
Before calibrating the meter, prepare the pH buffer calibration fluids. As instructed in the bag, mix each pH powder in your own bottle with 2½ dl of clean water. You can use this calibration fluid more than once.
Calibration of the meter to pH 6.86
-
Open the screw cap on the meter, which shows the batteries
-
Use the EC / pH button to select the pH to be measured: meter screen has text pH
-
Remove the probe cap, immerse the probe in the pH 6.86 solution
-
Wait for the meter to stabilize, then adjust the meter to 6.86 by turning the small PH screw next to the batteries.
-
Rinse the meter head with water and replace the protective cap
Calibration of the meter to pH 4
-
By also calibrating the meter to pH 4, you ensure that the meter is calibrated over the entire measuring range
-
Remove the probe cap, immerse the probe in the pH 4 solution
-
Wait for the meter to stabilize, then adjust the meter to 4.00 by turning the small PH screw next to the batteries.
-
Rinse the meter head with water and replace the protective cap
Calibration of the meter to pH 4.01 and pH 9.18 ensures the result of the calibration
-
By also calibrating the meter with pH 4.01 and pH 9.18 fluids, you ensure that the meter is calibrated over the entire measuring range
-
Wait for the meter reading to stabilize, then adjust the meter to the default value of 4.01 or 9.18 for each fluid by turning the small PH screw next to the batteries.
-
Rinse the meter head with water between measurements and finally replace the protective cap
EC calibration of the meter 1413
-
Open the screw cap on the meter, which shows the batteries
-
Select EC to measure with the EC / pH button; When meter is not showing pH sign the EC is on.
-
Remove the probe cap, immerse the probe in the EC / CF calibration solution
-
Wait for the meter reading to stabilize, then adjust the meter to 141 (EC = 1.41) by turning the small TDC / EC screw next to the batteries.
-
Rinse the meter head with water and replace the protective cap
