Water pumps

Water pump function is to move water and nutrients up in the Supragarden hydroponics system. Plan and Design the height you want for your Supragarden and then select the pump that can lift the water high enough.

The needed amount of water flow depends on the plant's water demand (type, size, volume) and air temperature. Typically for indoor green wall water is circulated for 10 minutes x 6 times per day. When growing food plants the water can be circulated continuously and so maximice plants growth speed. It is advisable to control the water pump with a timer.

Water lifting is demanding work for pump. Supragarden pumps have beed designed for water fountains and they have extra  high lift capacity, but they are very quiet and energy efficient.

Our Standard pumps, have lifting capacities from 1.5 to  5 meters | 4.9-16,4 ft and they can lift water up to 2-10 Plantsteps height.

Selecting right size pump:

If you are planning a garden that rises up to a maximum of 6 Plantsteps, choose the pump named for this. You can also use the same pump with a lower garden, but not higher one. If you use high power pump on low level, more horizontal Supragarden you should reduce pump flow with the flow adjuster.

The water tube starting from the pump can also be divided into two or more tubes going up to several Plantsteps and those other Planstep "branches" do not have much influence on pump lifting power. However, if the two tubes are not reaching the same height on Supragarden you have to limit the water supply of the lower tube with the tube regulator, so that the water rises high enough also in the other branch of the tube.
