Supragarden® is a hydroponic growing system where you should use only water-soluble fertilizers. The hydroponic farming takes place without any soil and plants receive nutrients from the flowing water in the system. Nutrients are added with water to the water tank and it is then lifted to plant roots with a water pump.
Different types of nutrients should be used with hydroponics than with traditional soilculture and agriculture. This is particularly relevant to nitrogen fertilizers. With Hydroponics the nitrate nitrogen (NO3) has to be used. General commercial plant fertilizers usually contain ammonium and urea nitrogen, suitable for multicultural farming, but not suitable for hydroponics.
All SUPRA-Nutrients are commercial greenhouse grade and they are completely water-soluble and chlorine-free.

Information about the The Nutrient MIX A+B starting package that comes with Suprgarden® system Kit you can find here >>
Other SUPRA-Nutrients are professional grade base nutrients that are given to plants accoring to grow instructions below.
Here are instructions for the most common plant fertilizer groups, taking into account their typical growth stages.
Make first a 10% Liquid mix, "a mother liquid" from each used fertilizer powder by adding 100g of powder to one liter (1L) of warm water.
Add this ready made Liquid mix (10%) to Supragarden system with new plant water according to plant group and grow phase guide below.
Add each liquid mix to new water and do not mix nutrients together before the water. |

Nitrogen (N)
Nitrogen has the greatest impact on plant growth. It allows the plant leafs to become dark green, strong and vibrant. The nitrogen input is less important for flowers and fruits but should never be completely stopped or plant will turn yellow and dry up quickly.
Phosphorus (P)
The plant needs phosphorus immediately after germination and cultivation for strong roots. On vegetative growth phase, plants do not consume so much phosphorous but if target is to make flowers and fruits after leaves growth, phosphorous and potassium level needs to be typically increased. Thus, salads need less P and tomatoes more.
Potassium (K)
The plant gets strong body and the health resistance increases with potassium. Potassium also promotes the absorption of other nutrients. The need of potassium is higher in young plants and when flowering and making fruits.
The most common additional and secondary nutrients are calcium (Ca), sulphur (S) and magnesium (Mg). Fruit crops such as tomatoes, strawberries and peppers may require the addition of magnesium, in particular the transition from the growth phase to a good producing crop.
